Some lovely comments from our guests

This was a return visit to this special farmhouse hide-away with walks from the door along the wooded riverside. Set between Exmoor and Dartmoor, we were able to enjoy both National Parks, whilst the estuary at Appledore and Instow is also within easy reach. This charming old property is very spacious and there are numerous places to sit out in the garden. Bees and butterflies are in abundance, and we also saw Bambi twice in the river just a short distance away. Very dog-friendly. A true escape from life to re-charge your batteries… until the next time. We are sure to return. Enjoy!

I had a wonderful time in Horry Mill, the place is enchanting, like somewhere straight out of a fairy tale. The cottage is so cozy and warm. Sonia and Simon are the BEST hosts, such lovely people! 10/10 I would definitely visit again!

Ideal stay, lovely hosts, great attention to detail for comfort of guests. Even in January, exhilarating and picturesque woodland walks on the doorstep. As an artist, I found inspiration inside and outside of the cottage. We’ve booked already for later in the year.

An idyllic week – beautiful walks out through the woods from Horry Mill, cold white wine in the summer house on warmer evenings and log fires when it rained. Horry Mill is so peaceful and relaxing – it was really hard to leave. The owners make it special – fresh eggs, scones and cream, and flowers in the sitting room. Perfection!

Sonia and Simon were wonderful hosts during our weeks stay at Horry Mill. Nothing was too much trouble for them despite them being so busy with their everyday chores on this working farm. The cottage was cosy with everything you would need for an enjoyable stay in any weather. Plenty of logs for the open fire and an endless supply of fresh free range eggs. The setting was about as quiet as it gets and local walks through the surrounding woods are stunning. For those who like to get away from it all, this place nestling in a beautiful Devon valley takes some beating.

Horry Mill Cottage has proved to be the ideal place for us to spend our precious holidays. The cottage is in a beautiful setting with walks with our dog from the doorstep. The cottage is cosy, tastefully furnished and well equipped. Sonia and Simon are the most friendly hosts, always on hand to give advice or help if needed. We have enjoyed autumn breaks, walking during the day and relaxing in front of a log fire at night, and with our family in summer having a barbecue in the lovelyl garden after days out.. We will keep returning as we have finally found the perfect place to stay!
